Chapter 9 - Persistence

Hill tells us in this chapter that "POVERTY is attracted to the one 
whose mind is favorable to it, as money is attracted to him whose mind has been deliberately 
prepared to attract it, and through the same laws. POVERTY CONSCIOUSNESS
WILL VOLUNTARILY SEIZE THE MIND WHICH IS NOT OCCUPIED WITH THE MONEY
CONSCIOUSNESS. A poverty consciousness develops without conscious application of
habits favorable to it. The money consciousness must be created to order, unless one is 
born with such a consciousness.

We have heard many stories of people who gained a lot of money very quickly
and lost it just as quickly. And as Hill stated the reason is "POVERTY CONSCIOUSNESS
WILL VOLUNTARILY SEIZE THE MIND WHICH IS NOT OCCUPIED WITH THE MONEY
CONSCIOUSNESS."  These people did not develop a money consciousness and therefore
their mind defaults to poverty consciousness.

We have heard Michael Dlouhy tell us how he had to tell himself he deserved to make
more money in one month than his Dad made in a year.  IF he had not developed that
"Money consciousness" he would have been one of the statistics that gained a lot of
money quickly and lost it just as quickly.

Hill tells us "money consciousness must be created".  Michael had created that consciousness.

Hill writes "The majority of people are ready to throw their aims and purposes 
overboard, and give up at the first sign of opposition or misfortune. 
A few carry on DESPITE all opposition, until they attain their goal."

In other words, the few lack persistence and as  Hill stated "money consciousness 
must be created".  It takes work and persistence.

Consciousness is defined in the Dictionary as the quality or state of being aware
especially of something within oneself.
