Hill says the knowledge needed to attract money is organized, and intelligently directed, through “practical PLANS OF ACTION, to the DEFINITE END of accumulation of money.”
He blames “all systems of education (for) failure…to teach …students HOW TO ORGANIZE AND USE KNOWLEDGE AFTER THEY ACQUIRE IT.”
Consider a mechanic who has laid every part of an automobile out on the floor. He can offer a dissertation about each part: how it was built, the material it is made of, the history of its use in cars since the very first car. If this mechanic has ALL this knowledge, but does NOT know how to put the pieces of the car together, he will never be able to drive it or make money selling the car.
Let’s apply this concept to our purposes of moving our Network Marketing businesses forward.
How many of us spend lots of time learning every little thing about each product we have to sell: each ingredient, the history of how they work together and why they are in the product….instead of learning great stories that will allow our prospects to see what these products have done for others and may do for them?
I know I use to feel that need. Of course, we need to know the bare bones of the benefits, but not every little detail about where and how they were made. This will only cause people to shy away from joining our businesses, because they may feel they can’t possibly present the products in such detail. Plus, prospects may fall asleep listening to long explanations and totally lose interest in one that may make a real difference in their lives.
Fortunately, today’s technology allows us to send a link to the person who wants ALL the info about any product. We don’t have to memorize it and let it clutter our minds. Plus, the “practical PLANS OF ACTION to the DEFINITE END of the accumulation of money” is very simply already in place by the company we represent.
Hill shares Mr. Ford’s statement after he was questioned about being ignorant by not knowing random historical event details. Mr. Ford pointed out that he has “a row of electric push-buttons on his desk and by pushing the right button, I can summon to my aid men who can answer ANY question I desire to ask concerning the business to which I am devoting most of my efforts…WHY I should clutter up my mind with general knowledge for the purpose of being able to answer questions, when I have men around me who can supply any knowledge I require?” He had created a Master Mind group.
Andrew Carnegie also relied on the specialized knowledge of his business through the aid of his Master Mind group, “knowing nothing about the technical end of the steel business…”
