Chapter 12 - The Subconscious Mind
Hill tells us in this chapter "You cannot entirely control your subconscious mind,
but you can voluntarily hand over to it any plan, desire, or purpose which you wish
transformed into concrete form.
Many people read positive books, listen to motivational speakers, repeat their self talk
and believe these things will change their lives and they will become successful in what
they want to accomplish. But in reality it is just the beginning. When there is a beginning,
there has to be something between the beginning and the end and this is where we can
get lost.
If we begin and keep saying our self talk over and over to our subconscious mind and
don't go any further than that, it will always be just our self talk.
Tyron Woodley says "I know when you do things systematically, non-stop, and repetition,
that's how you make things happen in your life. It's the same thing in faith.
In other words, to make things happen in our life, we have to "make things happen".
Those are action words not just thinking words.
Brian O'Driscoll says "If you stop doing a skill you've done for years for any period of time,
there's an adjustment period to get it back. In anything you do. Motor skills won't work as
fast, because repetition is everything."
Whether it is saying our self talk, whether it is talking with people about our business;
whether it is sharing products with potential customers, we have to stick with it, keep
doing it every opportunity we have; otherwise we will continually have that "adjustment period to get it back."
As Michael Dlouhy says "How you do anything, is how you do everything."
